Zonta International Strategies to Prevent Violence Against Women (ZISVAW) Programs:

Reduces the incidence of violence against women and girls by awarding grants to United Nations agencies or recognized NGOs for projects that seek to change personal and/or political knowledge, attitudes and behavior contributing to gender-based violence.

Current and Previous Grants Include:

2006-2008

STAR Network of World Learning for the Regional Anti-Trafficking Mobilization for Prevention (RAMP) project along the bust Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia-Montenegro cross-border routes and for the Anti-Trafficking Advocacy Modules project for Zonta Clubs in Europe

2004-2006

United Nations Foundation and United Nations Population Fund for prevention of Gender-based Violence in Post-Tsunami Sri Lanka and among Sudanese Refugees in Chad; UN Trust Fund in Support of Actions to Eliminate Violence Against Women for the creation of women friendly police and judicial procedures in Bhutan.

1994-2004

The Zonta International Foundation provided more than US$540,000 in financial support to 24 collaborative ZISVAW projects submitted by Zonta Clubs and their partnering community-based non-profit organizations in 7 countries
